Gymnasts compete at Level 7 & 8 State, Venvertloh qualifies for Regionals
Congratulations to Sophia Slater & Anna Venvertloh on competing at Level 7 & 8 State in Waukegan this weekend. Gem City is USAG Regionals bound AGAIN this season with Venvertloh qualifying!
Sophia competed Friday, April 9 as a Level 7. Anna competed Sunday, April 11 as a Level 8, earned ninth place on floor, and also earned a qualifying score to advance to Level 8 Regionals in Noblesville, Indiana April 23-25!
Level 7 athletes had to earn a 34.50 All-Around score at a qualifying invitational earlier in the season and Level 8 athletes had to earn a 33.00 All-Around score at a qualifying invitational earlier this season. Gem City’s Level 7 & 8 girls attended four invitationals this season throughout Illinois and Missouri.
Gem City’s Level 7 & 8 athletes practice up to six times a week and then usually attend one-on-one lessons throughout the season to perfect certain skills.
