Hi everyone, Coach Katie here with our latest Athlete of the Month spotlight. It’s hard to believe we’re already celebrating our 11th Athlete of the Month! Time has flown by, and we’re getting closer and closer to Gem City’s 20th anniversary. This month, we’re excited to recognize someone who has grown into one of the most familiar faces in our gym. Congratulations to our July Athlete of the Month is Ava Freesmeyer.
Our tumbling team traveled to Madison, Wisconsin, June 15–19 for the 2026 United States Tumbling & Trampoline (USTA) National Championships. With 115 teams from across the nation represented, this milestone meet capped off a season that began last November and our athletes delivered results that will define this program for years to come.
Congratulations to Lydia Kelly, our latest Good Grades Quarterly Drawing winner! She’s 8 years old and a Level 3 gymnast on Gem City’s team.
Hello summer session families, and welcome back to the gym! We are so glad to be kicking off a whole summer of gymnastics, tumbling, and cheer. A special welcome to all the new athletes joining us this session!

We are now on month ten of our twelve-month celebration recognizing incredible athletes as we build toward our 20th anniversary in August. This month, we’re proud to highlight an athlete who somehow manages to do everything, and do all of it well. Our June Athlete of the Month is Dorothy Kay Boehmer.
Twenty-four athletes from Gem City Gymnastics & Tumbling are headed to Madison, Wisconsin, to compete at the 2026 USTA National Championships, taking place June 14–20. This is the culmination of an outstanding season — and a reflection of the work these athletes have invested in the gym week after week.

May is here, and our spring session is coming to a close! Our last day of classes is Saturday, May 16. The gym will be closed to classes May 17-31. Summer classes start Monday, June 1 and summer enrollment is still underway and going strong!
Whether your child is three or thirteen, a first-timer or a returning athlete, gymnastics and tumbling develop skills that go well beyond what happens on the mat. Here’s what you can expect your child to gain from a session with us.
On April 26, our tumbling team traveled to Pana, Illinois, for the 2026 USTA Southern Illinois State Championships. With 30 athletes competing for a chance to qualify for the USTA National Championships this June in Madison, Wisconsin, the stakes were high — and our tumblers responded with one of the strongest performances of the season.
Our gymnastics team traveled to Fort Wayne, Indiana on April 18–19 for USAG Level 7 Regionals, the final competition of the season. Three Gem City athletes represented our program on the regional stage, and each one came home with top-10 finishes to close out a season’s worth of hard work.
Congratulations to Arizona Phillips, our latest Good Grades Quarterly Drawing winner! She’s 10 years old and on our Gymnastics Team.
Our Gem City Tumbling Team heads to Pana, Illinois, on April 26 for the USTA Southern Illinois State Championships. Thirty-two athletes earned the opportunity to compete at State after a season that began in November and included anywhere from three to seven Illinois competitions each.
