August 2023 Newsletter
School is about to start so be sure to register for fall classes at Gem City!
Registration is underway now. Please remember that you must have your fall registration form handed in BEFORE your first class. You can find the form here. The first payment isn’t due until the first week of class. If you have a trial class the first week, then payment isn’t due until week two if you decide you like it!
Also, a shoutout and thank you to those that attended our summer skills or cheer clinics! We were so excited to have over 110 athletes turnout for some extra work during their summer break!

Scheduled Breaks
August: The gym is closed August 9-20 for classes. The last day of the summer session is Tuesday, August 8.
We WILL still be hosting Preschool Playtime over break – Wednesday, August 9, and Wednesday, August, 16.
September: We are closed for classes for Labor Day Break – Saturday, September 2 – Monday, September 4. Regular fall classes resume on Tuesday, September 5.
Good Grades Drawing to Continue This School Year
We will continue to do our Good Grades Drawing for the 2023-2024 school year, so make sure to keep your grades up! The first quarter drawing will be on November 8, so make sure to bring a copy of your first quarter report card into the office as soon as you get it this fall!
Next Event: Back-to-School Pizza Fun Night
Our next Pizza Fun Night is scheduled for Friday, September 22, 6:30-9:30pm, and you must pre-register by Thursday, September 21. Ages 4-12. Members $20, nonmembers $25. The price includes pizza, soda, candy prizes for games, and playtime!
A Few Goodbyes
Every year we get to say HI and BYE to coaches from session to session. We have lots of college-age coaches and then we have others that work seasonally. After this summer we’re saying good-bye to a few coaches.
We were lucky enough to have Allsion Bates as a sub for our spring and summer sessions – she was SO valuable to us and we’re sad to see her go, but she’d continuing her schooling for jewelry design.
Coach Savannah is moving to Kansas, but we’re sure she’ll be in every once in a while to say hi because she did grow up here AND her mom still works here!
Coach Hope and Coach Lydia will be both be welcoming baby boys in September, so they will both be out for awhile taking care of their new additions, but they’ll both be back!
Madison Kent will be going back to college, but hopefully we’ll see her again next summer!
Jackson Thompson and Haley Woodyard will both be in and out over the next school year, but they are so busy with school, so subbing and helping on weekends will be where these two help out most.
We have two birthday party instructors leaving us this fall – Allora Hawkins will be attending her freshman year of college and Brandi Spoonmore will be welcoming her third baby!
And Now for a Few Hellos
Kadence Haskins, McKenzee Mellon, and Anna Venvertloh will be coaching starting this fall. You already know them because they’ve been shadowing and training all summer long with us already!
Coach Rylee will be back this fall as her shoulder surgery and recovery have gone well and she’s been released to coach full-time again!
