July 2025 Newsletter
We can’t believe it’s already July, and that means it’s time to look ahead to fall!
The summer has been exciting! Gem City brought home 3 National Champions, 3 National Awards, and 3 Team Trophies from the 2025 USTA Nationals in Rapid City! We’re so proud of our 25 athletes who gave it their all, and extra cheers for Christian Klingele, who also competed with the USTA National Elite Team! Read all about it here.
Our Fall 2025 Schedule is now available, and we’ve got some important dates coming up to help your family prepare:
- Evaluations: Week of July 14 – Each child will receive a coach evaluation and level recommendation.
- Fall Enrollment Begins: Week of July 21
- Fall Session Starts: Monday, August 25
- Summer Session Ends: Friday, August 8
Enrollment must be done in person or over the phone. To register, you’ll need:
- A parent portal set up
- A credit card on file
- Agreement to our four online policies
No payment is due until the first day of class!

Join us for Parent’s Night Out in August
Drop the kids off for a fun-filled evening on Friday, August 1 from 6:30-9:30pm. Ages 5-12. $25 for members & $30 for nonmembers. While they enjoy fun and pizza, you can enjoy a night out on the town. Get exclusive discount coupons at drop off for Quincy Axe Company, The Pour Haus, and 8te Open.
Summer Clinics Happening Now!
Final Week at the Quincy Children’s Museum
Our special exhibit, Tumble Time, at the Quincy Children’s Museum is wrapping up! Don’t miss your last chance to visit the exhibit during its final week: July 7–13. Thank you to QCM for including Gem City in such a fun, movement-based experience! Follow us and QCM on social for exhibit hours and updates.
Illness Policy for the Month
If your child did not attend school due to illness, we ask that you also refrain from attending class or practice at Gem City the same evening. We ask that athletes be fever free for 24 hours before coming to class.
Also, please have your athlete wash their hands before and after class.
Coffee + Friend + Preschool Playtime
Come and go as you please during our Preschool Playtime (PP). Several parents have told us they love using the time to meet with a friend while the kids play. PP is every Wednesday morning 9:30-11:30am, ages six and under, only $9 per child.
Troy Lucas Memorial Scholarship
The Troy Lucas Memorial Scholarship honors a young athlete whose time at Gem City helped him grow in courage, communication, and joy.
Each year, we select one child with differing abilities to receive a school year of free weekly private lessons. The experience is customized in consultation with a local occupational therapist to ensure it’s meaningful and empowering.
