Cheer Brings Home Two First-Place Wins from First Meet of Season

Gem City Cheer kicked off the season in unforgettable fashion at their first competition of the year in Des Moines. Both of our all-star squads brought home first-place finishes, setting the tone for an exciting season ahead!

The senior level 2 elite squad is coached by Hope Huff and Ashley Schralla. The youth level 1 elite squad is coached by Rylee Mellon and Christian Klingele. You can read more about our all star cheer program here.

Phoenix – Senior Level 2 Elite

We are incredibly proud of the Phoenix for hitting a full routine packed with maxed-out difficulty. This routine is fast paced, challenging, and demands precision from start to finish. Despite experiencing a two-month delay in receiving their choreography over the summer, this team didn’t let anything slow them down. They pushed through, worked hard, and delivered a standout performance well before the new year. Way to rise to the occasion, Phoenix!

Diamonds – Youth Level 1 Elite

We’re also celebrating the Diamonds for their strong debut. This squad features nine brand-new athletes who have never competed in cheer before, and they stepped onto the mat with confidence and energy. Their first showing was an impressive one and a glimpse of all the potential ahead this season.

Awards

Both squads earned first-place banners, medals, and championship rings with plenty of bling to mark the moment!
