Twenty-five of Gem City’s tumblers traveled to Macon, Illinois, near Decatur for a competition. All athletes did stellar with every athlete placing top seven or better.
A few of our gymnasts trekked a little further than we usually do to compete at the Coaches Spectacular in the Cincinnati area. We love this meet each year because the competition is fierce, we get to explore beyond our Illinois-Missouri gymnastics bubble, and it’s a fun road trip!
It was a wintery weekend but Gem City’s gymnastics team still took a roadtrip to compete at the Kansas City Classic Invitational. The meet was a huge success! 🎉 We had MANY personal bests & our Level 3 team earned Third Place Team Award! 💪

Giving back to your community is important! We held a Giving Tuesday donation challenge with our team athletes and coaches. We encouraged our athletes to donate $1 to $5 to a cause they cared about and Gem City matched each dollar up to $5 for each athlete’s donation.
Gem City’s gymnastics team had a strong showing in Lake Barrington, Illinois, for the 20th Annual Ultimate Wish Gymnastics Classic on December 6-8, 2019.
The Gem City gymnastics team kicked off its first meet of the season with a first place finish for the Level 3 Team and some amazing individual performances at the Paul Hamm Thanksgiving Classic in St. Charles, Illinois.
There’s been much enthusiasm for Gem City’s Adaptive Gymnastics class for athletes with special needs. Based on feedback, we are now making it only a weekly commitment for $12 each class. No long-term commitment or membership fee!
Ava Winking, a soon-to-be freshman at Quincy High School, is the winner of our Good Grades Quarterly Drawing for the fourth quarter of the 2018-2019 school year! We’re always excited by the opportunity to share in our athlete’s success at school with our Good Grades Quarterly Drawing.
Bree Barnes will graduate from Quincy Senior High School this year. She is the daughter of Brian and Cinda Barnes and a part of the Gem City family for almost 12 years. She was on gymnastics team, tumbling team, and just this past year on the Gem City All-Star squad. In 2012, Bree qualified and competed in the AAU Junior Olympics.
